The “Honey” Sauce



I should have been suspicious when the label says “Honey Sauce” and not just plain “Honey.”  Curiosity finally got the better of me and I read the label.

High Fructose Corn Syrup
Corn Syrup
Natural Flavor
Caramel Color

and on the front side “11% Real Honey”

Guess that means 89% other stuff.  On the plus side they will not flog the poor bees so much.  Maybe KFC should sell the Honey Sauce as a Save the Bees campaign, “buy our biscuits with Honey Sauce and save a bee.”

Does this make your biscuit taste better?  Feel better about glopping the sauce on your biscuit?  Feel safer?  Does this taste better?  I wonder if they got a tax break for using the High Fructose Corn Syrup?

The Buttery Sauce had no list of ingredients but it is yellow and smelled like butter.

What happened to the old labels when I was a kid?  You know the single ingredient ones Honey, Butter, simple, easy to understand, and organic to boot.
