I like thick Spaghetti Sauce but most purchased sauce is sort of thin. Making Spaghetti Sauce can also take some time. Here is my solution for a quick thick Spaghetti Sauce mix.
Step one is get a jar of your favorite sauce mix, most of them have code words like “Italian Sauce” or “Pasta Sauce” or other code words, comes in 24 ounce jars.
Also get 1 to 1.5 pounds of ground beef (I use extra lean), a large can (8 oz. drained weight) of Mushrooms (I use sliced bits and pieces), for a bit more zest get a can of sliced olives.
Brown and crumble the meat (this is the takes time part). When the meat is browned dump it into a large container (I use a 10 cup plastic refrigerator container) with the Sauce, sliced mushrooms and olives. Mix well and your thick Spaghetti Sauce is ready to use.
Making the Spaghetti: I use Angle Hair Pasta because it cooks quicker. Break the pasta into 1 to 1.5 inch long pieces before putting into the pot to cook. This means you can eat the spaghetti with a spoon and not mess around with the long sloppy stringy things. Once the spaghetti is cooked, drain the spaghetti and put it back into the pot. Dump in the amount of sauce you want into the pot with the spaghetti and heat everything back up. When bubbly warm serve in a bowl.
For those that want a bit more balanced meal, when you are finished with the Magic Spaghetti Sauce, take the bowl and put in some frozen mixed veggies, add a pat of butter and put it in the Microwave until it is properly cooked. Season as desired and eat.
And yes, before you ask I am single. I have however managed to get 5 to 7 course meals for two off a single burner round Magma BBQ, so the cooking is a bit as the spirit moves.
